This half-day workshop was designed for the hosts, leaders, potential leaders and participants in Kalyana Mitta (KM) groups. Spirit Rock is looking for additional facilitators and hosts to create new groups and connect people with the KM program. We can bear witness to each others’ suffering by recognizing genuine spiritual friends or kalyānamitta who share our values and our desire for awakening. Spiritual friends can help us identify our individual pitfalls and support our letting go of these obstacles. It is a joy to share the Dhamma together.

Kalyana mitta, or spiritual friendship, is a foundation of the Buddhist path. Through examining a number of suttas related to friendship, we gain an understanding of the important qualities and ways of relating to wise friends.
